Plain tales from the Raj : images of British India in the twentieth century

Plain tales from the Raj : images of British India in the twentieth century

This is an anthology of material from Radio 4 programmes broadcast in 1974. More than sixty survivors of the British Raj were interviewed. Young and old, men and women, they lived out their lives in India unaffected by the historical events they lived through. Frank and self-critical, these accounts give an impressive picture of a unique lifestyle - warts and all.
