Listening using an audio player

If you are unable to use touchscreen devices, you can borrow an easy-to-use audio player from the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired, which allows you to listen to talking books available at the Accessibility Library Celia.

Borrowing an audio player and books is free of charge. Using the device requires an Internet connection.

To borrow an audio player (e.g., Webbox), you will need a declaration confirming your print disability from a healthcare professional. You can find a declaration template and detailed instructions on how to apply for an audio player on the website of the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired (in Finnish).

You will automatically receive talking books from Celia book clubs to your audio player once a month. Books clubs are available in Finnish and Swedish.

You can also borrow books of your choice from the Celia talking book selection to your device. You can borrow books from the Celianet online service or on the Pratsam Reader application. Your contact person or assistant can also borrow books on your behalf. If you need help, the Celia customer service is available for assistance.

As an Accessibility Library Celia online customer, you can borrow up to 100 books per month to add to your audio player library. The loan period for the books is four weeks. You can renew your loans in Celianet settings on the My loans page.
